Avento has designed a Guide to incorporate gender perspective in grassroots sports for The Provincial Council of Álava. This work aims to promote that all grassroots sports development programmes incorporate the principle of equality from the designing process to their implementation.
To achieve this goal, it is considered fundamental that school sports instructors or coaches acquire training in coeducation with a view to promoting either boys’ and girls’ sports participation and to preventing the reproduction of myths and stereotypes that influence sports practice since childhood. Therefore, this Guide, which addresses five sub-areas of grassroots sports, aims to serve as a support tool for coaches to promote gender equality in their everyday work.
