Throughout our professional career we have had the opportunity to apply our vision of sport to several projects. We believe that some of them may be inspirational given their importance and impact in the field. We invite you to discover them.
The work achieved with women’s football in Gipuzkoa is an example of the importance of strategy in developing sport. Together with the sports agents involved (Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, Gipuzkoa Football Federation and Real Sociedad de Fútbol), we set about completely restructuring the sport, creating a strategy to reorganise women’s football in the territory and foster its growth in echelons ranging from lower to the elite. Evolution of the different indicators in the last decade, and the uneven evolution of the sport in other territories not committed to a strategic intervention corroborates the success of that commitment, something of which all of us who participated in the project are proud.
One representative example of projects based on Strategy and Innovation is the addressing of a new cross border competition framework for Basque rugby. Together with the Basque Country Rugby Union, the Navarre Rugby Union and the Comité départemental 64, as well as backing of the Basque Government and the Nouvelle Aquitaine-Basque Country-Navarre Euroregion, steps are currently being taken to restructure the existing competition framework and give it a new cross border focus. This is a strategic project aiming to increase the repercussion, impact and expansion of Basque rugby.
One exciting and successful initiative with equality as its spearhead is the project we produced in 2012 for the Gipuzkoa Surf Federation to promote women’s participation in the sport. The success achieved by Emakumea Surflari has beaten the initial expectations. Now in place for 6 years, more than 1,200 women have been attracted to surfing thanks to this programme which is now being exported to other territories and even to other kinds of sport.
